5 things we should keep from the pandemic... and 5 to throw down the toilet

When was the last time you entered a joint without a mask?
You don't even remember.

The pandemic is now, officially, one of those moments that change your life from then on. One before and one after. Like talking about the peseta, about Chenoa announcing in a tracksuit that she had broken up with Bisbal, about Caribe Mix 95... historical changes that you tell the new generations as if it were an epic legend.

But have we gotten better or worse?

We return to the bars, to stick our tongues out at strangers without fear, to resume contact... to move freely through the world.

It seems that the fear of the coronavirus is receding or that at least we have gotten 'used to it', like the fifth time that Fani puts Christofer on the Temptation Island and... well, what do you want me to tell you, like it's not so surprise nor as shocking as the first time.

You could see it coming... you say to yourself, using logic.

Therefore, now that we have all been syringed and we are moving towards “herd immunity,” we ask ourselves, are we better or worse than before?    Well, like everything, it depends.    There are little things that we have re-discovered and that have come (or returned) to stay (to come back again 🎶🎶) and others, to which we will say goodbye forever, without regrets.

GOOD THINGS, BAD THINGS OF THE PANDEMIC

1. YOUR HOUSE, YOUR TEMPLE

The pandemic has done a lot of work for introverts. The 'I'm staying home today' thing and the movie plan, board games, video game console... is now just as popular as partying until late at night.

2. Del ATHLEISURE… al pyjaming.

Or being able to wear pajamas on the street as an outfit  without them looking at you strange.

And I always say that the chonis in my neighborhood have been visionaries ahead of their time; some misunderstood when it comes to fashion.

3. TELEWORK

Or rather that the job adapts to you and where you want to live.  (and not the other way around).

A more flexible, healthier job... and where it is clear that companies have to get their act together or they will lose their job without looking back.

4. THE SOUL IN THE AIR

And this is 100% Spanish: reclaim the street, the park and the plan in the sun.

Return to the bottles, to the terraces until reaching hypothermia... and to flee from closed and expensive places, by default.

5. There is no need to touch each other and get so close... always.

We will never be uptight Nordics, but it is not bad not to feel the obligation to give kisses and hugs to everyone.

We would even think it would be good to force people to wear a mask instead of coughing in the neck if they are on the bus and they have the flu.

UNTIL LATER, FAGGIES

Things that we hope are left behind:

1. The balcony police

Or that they look at you badly if you cough in line at the supermarket, report the Stasi thing to your neighbor if a lot of people come up to the floor, look out of the corner of your eye at the news of massive parties,... end to collective pointing, please.

2. Silly restrictions

The obligatory hydroalcoholic gel, not being able to get out of your chair at a concert, sports with a mask, the absence of food on airplanes, the absence of napkin holders in bars... I'm sorry but it doesn't work anymore.

3. Not 'harmonizing'

That by working at home all day, in the end it becomes a ball and you don't know how to distinguish where your life begins and your work ends. Let's put up barriers again (at least mental) to protect spaces.

4. Crowd phobia

It's not about being a supporter of Primark or restaurants where you can see the hairs on your neighbor's nose... but rather about enjoying a packed stadium, a great festival, a packed cinema...

5. Having to plan everything

Because without entry or reservation… you can hardly do anything. And we already feel like going back to improvisation, to 'we got involved', to 'what if we try this place'? without having to fill out forms and applications.

Y a ti, ¿cómo te ha cambiado la vida?   What have you discovered and what will you never miss?

P.s: We propose a change of trend - change the surgical mask for the Siwon beautifying one. From stress… to chill and relax. From sore ears... to grateful pores. From rubbing and maskne…. to enjoyment and tiki-tiki.
